Savanna

Sweet savanna,
insatiable reach
of eloquent ache-
in pacing, turning
encircles the young,
sleeking about
an urge in the dust.

Sweet savanna
of agony eyes,
you poor old twitch-
a beautiful toll
obsess at the miles,
laugh in the wet
of a yellow hole.

Sweet savanna,
your lichen bone
contorted plain-
a brutal graze
of sufferable green,
at pains to meet
the titters of rain.
